This brocatelle was realized from the lampas “Les Ananas” of the Collection Patrimoine of Tassinari & Chatel.

The pineapple motif, in a blue and gold lampas, was authenticated in 1952 by the former Head Curator of Versailles and the Trianons, M. Mauricheau- Beaupré, as that of the original hanging in the room where the King’s Council met in Versailles during the reign of Louis XV, where it is at present positioned.

A painting by Van Loo shows Louis XV in front of a chair covered with this fabric.

The weaving of this drawing in brocatelle quality brings an amazing relief, and an aspect very different from the lampas version.
